The CDC created a public health priority schedule to ensure highest risk patients are inoculated first. Our state started with vaccinating people in high-risk groups in Phase 1A and 1B. Phase 1A includes healthcare workers and residents of long-term care facilities. Phase 1B includes Georgians over the age of 65 and persons 16+ with at least one chronic medical condition. Subsequent phases are now eligible, and they will include lower risk populations. Please visit GA DPH website for more information on each phase at https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-vaccine.
